Psycho Freeze Frames

This shot shows how the character is struggling to survive after a mysterious murderer came and stabbed her several times while she was in the shower. I think the fact that she is reaching her hand out its iconic for her trying to hold onto life and maybe grab some help so she can survive that bit longer. This mid-shot shows in how much pain she is in as it is hard for her to get up and hold onto life which is clearly shown from her body posture and facial expression.

In this shot you do not see the murderer however you only see his body outline and the knife he is holding striking fear in the audience. It is especially scary because he looks as if he is ready to attack. From this medium shot you cannot know who it is bringing mystery into the audiences mind and bringing them to want to see how the mystery resolves. The editor decided to make the image blurred because of the water from the shower to also blur the characters features and again hide the identity which is usually what scares an audience the most.
